skirting your fiber

Get that fiber ready for the mill!! Skirting is very important.  Skirting saves time at the mill and saves you the customer money.
What is skirting fiber??
Skirting the fiber is when poop tags, hay,straw and other foreign items are removed by hand. This is actually  a very simple but sometimes tedious task. Lay your fleece out on a skirting table ( can be made very simple) use an old screen on 2 sawhorses. pull apart the fiber gently, grab out the foreign objects.. get those icky burdocks out! Tap the fiber on the screen( this helps get out dust) ans simply place in a plastic bag.
